I snapped this last Wednesday from our backyard mainly because of the bird. You would think that's an eagle. Nah, it's a pelican. My husband said, it must have been an eagle in its previous life as it was circling our area like an eagle. This is my skywatching entry.

We bought two rockmelons last Wednesday and because we also have watermelon, we've just used up half of the latter. One is already overripe. I'm thinking what we can do so it won't get rotten - as always what happened if there are lots of fruit at home. Well, something that will preserve it. Sorbet is perfect.

Here's a recipe from bestrecipes.com.au.
Ingredients500 g rockmelon
¾ cup water
110 g caster sugar
½ egg white

Method1. Place a shallow metal tin in the freezer to chill.
2. Remove seeds, peel and chop rockmelon and place into saucepan. Add water and sugar.
3. Over low heat, stir until sugar is dissolved. Turn heat up to medium.
4. Bring to boil and cook for 5 minutes or until rockmelon is tender and syrup is a little thicker.
5. Remove from heat and cool slightly.
6. Put rockmelon mix into a food processor and blitz until smooth.
7. Strain mix through a fine sieve into the chilled tin.
8. Cover with foil and freeze for 2 hours or until almost set.
9. Break up frozen mix and put into processor. Blitz until smooth.
10. Place back into tin and refreeze. Repeat process again, this time adding egg white when processing.
11. Return to freezer and chill until set.

It requires more effort though (not as much as getting home insurance quote) but I bet it is delicious. As for me, I'll have to see if I have time to do it.

You Should Smell Like a Cherry

You are not as you seem. Most people think that you're sweeter and more innocent than you actually are.

In truth, you are a total wild child. You just keep it all on the down low for appearance's sake.

You are happiest when you're plotting and scheming a bit. You can't help it, you have a devious mind!

You are good at charming people and getting what you want. You are naturally popular, and people just always seem to love you.

The skies and people at the ship - my family and I were travelling from my parents to Manila.

this is how I feel.

Your Energy Level is Low

Although you may have enough energy to survive, you probably wish you had more energy.
You feel tired throughout the day, and you wish you had the physical resources to do more. You may just be a person with naturally low energy. Pushing yourself just makes things worse. Make sure to eat well, avoid stress, and get plenty of rest. Taking care of yourself will make the most of the energy you've got.

I can't point it to anything. I go to sleep early which I don't really like to do as there are lots of stuff to do around the house. Oh well, I blame the weather. It's been hot and draining. That just happens on weekdays - I work 5 days, what can you say. It changed on weekends. I get to sleep-in, do some reading like eye cream reviews and some quality time wiht my family. Plus blogging of course.

I don't normally cook anything for lunch. I make grilled sandwiches for Mcj occasionally. But today, I made something hearty.

Fish cakes - tuna in a can. Plus, garlic bread. We have a favourite brand but it wasn't available when I went shopping last night so I got another brand. It isn't as good as our favourite.

We're not fish people. We seldom have fish for dinner. Yeah, so you think we need supplement for our Omega3 deficiency. Well, we just eat 5 veggies and 2 fruit a day. Hopefully, it'll make up for the scarcity of the other. Maybe, if we're going to be true to ourselves and want to cut-down on fatty food, I would consider fish in our everyday diet (plus readingquick trim extreme burn reviews just in case we'll resort to it for Mcj's big fat belly).

only on the thumb.

I wasn't paying attention when I closed the door of the car this morning, hurting my right thumb. I put it next to ice but it's still throbing now. I know, I'll have a half moon dead nail soon.

And I resorted to Doctor Net:
Evaluate the injury to decide if you can treat it at home or if you should seek medical attention. See the warnings below for situations requiring medical attention.

Remove all jewelry from the hand or foot.

Apply ice to reduce any swelling during the first 24 hours.

Keep the hand or foot elevated above heart level to reduce the throbbing and pain.

Take acetaminophen or ibuprofen to help manage the pain.

If the pain is extreme, a doctor may recommend draining the blood from beneath the nail to relieve the pressure.

I think when I finish blogging on enzyte, I'll have to put my hand above my heart level to reduce the throbbing and pain.

Your Valentine's Day Personality is Friendly

You think of Valentine's Day as the perfect chance to show people you care.

It's not exclusively a romantic holiday for you. You like to celebrate with your friends too. Valentine's Day makes you nostalgic for cute cards and cheap candies. You love the idea of a Valentine's Day where everyone feels included.

Okay, yeah I don't need Valentine's Day to be romantic but since it's the net everywhere, indulge me please. I wouldn't get anything special for Mcj (just a brush to scratch his back) and I don't want anything either - I don't need any skin products to conceal age spots (most of the adds for gifts for women are skin products, jewellery, perfume, etc - too stereotypical). I just want to stay in or take Jens to the park.

Watch this on telly the other night and I just thought of sharing it here:

Sports drinks
Australians love cooling off with a sports drink, consuming 21 million litres every year, and we are told it is good for us.
"Sports drinks are for athletes," according to Adam.
"The average person does not need them, they simply don't need the calories."
Arlene said the average sports drink has about nine teaspoons of sugar.
"The average person doing a workout certainly doesn't need all the sugar after the workout or during the workout," Arlene said.

Exercise frequency
We are often told to exercise three times a week. This is a myth if your goal is to lose weight, according to John.
"Exercising three times a week, sorry, not enough if you want to get results," John said.
Adam said to aim for around 30 minutes each day.
"Most days of the week, five, six days would be perfect," he said.

Nuts are healthy
We are told nuts are a healthy snack but they are not if you want to lose weight.
A handful of nuts is OK but stay away from nut bars.
"The average nut bar has twice as much fat as a Mars bar and more calories in them," John said.

Small meals more often
Celebrities like Jennifer Anniston swear five to six small meals a day is better than three large meals.
Adam said this is a myth.
"When the British Journal of Nutrition looked at this they found no difference between five or six meals to three meals a day but what it does do is stop us bingeing and craving food," Adam said.

Some people who's claiming to be health buff at some point have succumb to myths. Gullible over weight people are taken advantaged of as they are desperate to loose weight. And for some, they just turn to drastic steps like taking pills. I advise to do their research. There are heaps of materials available online for product reviews such as hydroxycut side effects. Doing your research will certainly pay-off.

Two weeks ago, I found an inch long white hair on top of my head. I just have to pull it out right away not thinking of anything. And when I told my friend about it, she said that I could have just left it there. Left what? Sticking out amongst the mass of black hair? Reall, I'm not concerned as some of my friends are already dying their hair black. And we are just in our early 30s.

My Not So Little Boy didn't much hair up til now. I've shaved his head twice and now it's starting to grow thicker. Mcj said, he has a receeding hairline even at a young age. I suppose, it runs in the genes.

Last night, I watched the move I'll Never Be Your Woman (or something like that) with Michelle Pfieffer and Paul Rudd. In the intro, mother nature was telling that people don't let nature run it's course. Oh well, there are too many inventions not to try them on.

As for me, I'm not scared of white hair as I'm assured that when are you going to have them, just look at your parents. My mother started to have random white hair when she was mid-40's but her hair is still black now at mid-50s. Hopefully, we don't have female pattern hair loss in our genes.

Dailysnob listed the 8 food to eat daily. I'll be posting them here one by one.
Yogurt - Various cultures claim yogurt as their own creation, but the 2,000-year-old food’s health benefits are not disputed: Fermentation spawns hundreds of millions of probiotic organisms that serve as reinforcements to the battalions of beneficial bacteria in your body, which boost the immune system and provide protection against cancer. Not all yogurts are probiotic though, so make sure the label says “live and active cultures.” Aim for 1 cup of the calcium- and protein-rich goop a day. SUBSTITUTES: Kefir, soy yogurt FIT IT IN: Yogurt topped with blueberries, walnuts, flaxseed, and honey is the ultimate breakfast—or dessert. Plain low-fat yogurt is also a perfect base for creamy salad dressings and dips. HOME RUN: Power Smoothie Blend 1 cup low-fat yogurt, 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries, 1 cup carrot juice, and 1 cup fresh baby spinach for a nutrient-rich blast.

I just bought 12 tubs today for my little boy and after reading this, you bet, I'll be on it too. Have to keep my body and skin healthy - not that we are grooming for a vacation somewhere as we don't even think of having any thing this year let alone a Maui rental. Yet, prevention is always better than cure.

You Are a Thrilling Wedding

Love makes you feel excited and alive. You see love as the beginning of a new chapter. To be unloved would not be fun, but you would be able to move on from it. You know there are plenty of friends and love interests out there for you. For you, romantic love is an adventure. For as long as you're with someone, you look forward to growing, changing, and learning together. You love deeply, but you don't get too attached in relationships. What be will be, and you roll with the punches.

And talking of cake, I know everyone loves it. Who doesn't. I prefer cheese cake actually, double the fat.

Blurb

Life in a home with gluten-free diet, preventing Diabetes 2 and trying to be lactose-free. And a little bit fussy child. It sounds difficult and complicated but not really. It's been roughly ten years on - we have a lot of practice.
